AY19 ANNUAL REPORT

Another Year for the Books.

Year 1 of The Teachers’ Lounge, also referred to as Season 1, was a year of question marks, trial and error, and immense growth, internally and as a collective. Below are some of the highlights from TTL Season 1.

A look at the numbers

What started as a email list of 100 educators of color in the Greater Boston area from in-district, charter, private, and higher ed. We grew that list to over 700 email addresses and attendees in Season 1. (Now at over 1,000 email addresses)

We hosted monthly events over the course of 10 months, with an average attendance rate of 75 attendees. (Now an average of 120 attendees) In June of 2019 we hosted 120 guests. To close out Season 1, two notable milestones for TTL were reaching 1,000 followers on Instagram (now at over 1,500 followers), and having only 2% of members reporting their departure from the education workforce.

As we enter into Season 2, membership numbers, average event attendance, and instagram followers continue to grow, while our goal is to keep workforce retention rates above 95%.

Make “commitment to diversity” more than a catch phrase.
