 About The Teachers' Lounge:

teacher's-lounge-black (1).png

Our journey started five years ago at a game night in Boston with educators of color and friends.  While sharing food and drinks, energy and conversation, we recognized just how small and scattered Boston’s community of educators of color is, and subsequently, the strong need for more social and professional networking opportunities.

Responding to this need, The Teachers' Lounge took course.  TTL organizes a variety of engagement opportunities for educators of color who share a set of common goals and values.  We provide a space for our community to connect, collaborate, and create, with the intention of fostering relationships and future partnerships, opportunities, and resources for educators of color.

TTL's October: HOME Event

For our second event of #TTLSeason2, we're returning to Savvor, the place we called HOME for most of our inaugural season. Come get your soul fed by some soul food with some soulful people! The Teachers' Lounge invites you HOME on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 PM!

An old Proverb says, "May your home always be too small to hold all of your friends." (Un)Fortunately we had to close registration for our first event, because our numbers were beyond what the venue could allow. Our community is growing! Be sure to RSVP if you plan to attend, link above. Secure your spot, so you can be a part of the conversations and celebrations.

At HOME, we'll seek to do just that—make the Greater Boston Area feel like HOME to everyone: those from here, those settling in, and those passing by. We'll engage in discussions about what it means to be included in our schools, businesses, and neighborhoods, and what we can do to create spaces of refuge for our community. And to make it more familiar, we're cueing up a classic TTL competition for y'all—check the rundown below:

3:00-4:00 - Complimentary Drink Tickets

4:00-4:30 - Welcome & Appetizers

4:30-5:00 - Activity 1: Get it POP'n

5:30-6:00 - Activity 2: Classic TTL Competition

6:00-8:00 - Vibe out with @yvngpavl
